[The feed turns on to show a…really confused blond. It’s not like being in a weird place is that strange for him – but just unexpected after everything that had happened.]

…So I guess I have a few questions.

One, where am I? [He looks around, as if waiting for things to make sense. But it doesn’t.] Two, what’s this thing? [And the feed points down to a grinning Aipom, the mischievous face taking up most of the screen.]

Three…where did my tail go?

[It was kind of disorienting, moving without a tail.]

I mean, it doesn’t seem that bad. But uh…this isn’t really what I was expecting either. Anyway, If anyone has any answers, I’d be happy to hear them. If I got this communication thing, that means there’s gotta be someone out there, right?

[Zidane shakes his head after a moment, and smiles into the feed.]

You're in Johto. New Bark Town, most likely. That thing is -- [Holding up his PokeDex because hm, purple monkey.] Aipom, the Long Tail Pokemon. Its tail is so powerful that it can use it to grab a tree branch and hold itself up in the air.

That. The third thing I can't really answer, except I've been hearing that the people who weren't human before were changed to appear as humans.

[OH WHOA it's Bartz! he was expecting help, but not in the form of his bff, either.]

Hey, man! [But wow, what he just said didn't really help with the confusion factor.] What do you mean, 'what took you so long'? How long have you been here?

So Zidane's just as cautious when he responds:]

So I see you're here too, Kuja.

[It's a party here in Johto now!]

[He looks down at the communicator, and grins.]

It is! Looks like there's quite a few people I know here after all.

[And at least one he doesn't know that knows him anyway.]

Heh, that's a lot to take in all at once. Alright, I'm in Johto. I have a monkey-pokémon-thing named an Aipom, and somehow this place took away my tail.

Yeah, definitely a lot to take in at once.

Uh...someone said that I'm in Johto and I have something called an Aipom. Anything else that you need to tell me?

You get used to it quick. People don't usually leave right away.

Your Aipom is your partner; you must battle the local wild monsters together, and hopefully catch a few with the red and white balls you'll find in your bag. Your tail is gone and so are your powers, and there is nothing you can do to get them back. It's in the middle of the winter and you'll freeze to death if you try to reach the next city, but I can come pick you up in less than a day if you do not stray too far from the town. Any questions?

[...He says this with the most upbeat voice in the universe, really, you'd think he was advertising a sunny beach.]

Chi's tail is gone too. Chi doesn't like it.

[It was going to take time to tell - and yet just a few questions were grating. How much did Zidane remember? The previous one had only remembered that...Cycle ... and depending on what'd happened last there, from what he'd understood, he only really had to look forward to more of the same - and if Zidane had forgotten Gaea still...]

Indeed ...I've been here for some time - I admit, I wasn't sure I'd see you again.

[Zidane, have a pink-haired lady staring at you through the gear with a wary look in her eyes. Do you recognize her or is this going to go badly? Hard to say.]

There are a lot people here. Probably a few you know, too.

One year and more I thing, but you don't remember when you were here? That's not cool.

I reconise that place. That's where I first ended up when I arrived here as well.

So you used to have a tail too, huh? Well at least I'm not the only one.

It's kinda hard to miss, but--
